To Each his Statement

The carcass of a youth was lying on the bank of Ganda Nala. Many people had seen it in the morning but nobody had the courage to run against the point of spear. So everybody passed blindly.

But news had spread widely from one ear to another. And the corpse was surrounded by the people all around at about 9 o'clock. Nobody knew about the young man who was lying dead.

"He died of cold; it was chilly cold last night." "Hey, brother, it seems someone killed him." "How handsome the young man looks."

"Mian, it may be an act of suicide (khud kushi)." "Might have drunk a lot at night."

"Seems he died of hunger and cold."

Each visitor was making his own remark. More people were still coming to utter something or the other on the incident and they left.

It is 2. P.M. the dead body is still lying there.
